From triggers to symptoms and stages, Propovir is here to help.
Avoiding the transmission of the cold sore virus (herpes simplex virus, HSV) is important to prevent spreading it to others.
See below tips to help minimise the risk of transmitting the virus.
1. Avoid Direct Contact
Refrain from kissing, sharing utensils, cups, lip balm, towels, or any items that come into contact with the mouth of someone who has an active cold sore.
2. Wash Hands
Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently, especially after touching your face, particularly the area around your mouth.
3. Avoid Touching Sores
If you have an active cold sore, avoid touching it as much as possible to prevent the virus from spreading to other parts of your body or to other people.
4. Be Mindful of Personal Items
Refrain from sharing personal items such as razors, towels, or lip products with others, especially during an active outbreak.
5. Practice Good Hygiene
Keep your hands clean and avoid touching your face unnecessarily, especially during an outbreak.
Maintain healthy lips and minimise the occurrence of cold sores by incorporating these strategies into your daily routine:
Prompt Treatment
If you notice the tingling sensation that often precedes a cold sore outbreak, initiate treatment (such as Propovir) promptly to lessen the severity and duration of the outbreak.
Avoid Triggers
Identify and avoid triggers that can cause cold sore outbreaks, such as stress, fatigue, sunlight exposure, and certain foods like nuts and chocolate.
Sun Protection
Wear lip balm with SPF when going out in the sun to protect your lips from UV damage.
Stay Hydrated
Ensure adequate hydration by drinking plenty of water to keep both your body and lips moisturised.
Maintaining healthy lips and preventing cold sores involves a combination of good hygiene and lifestyle adjustments.
Here are some tips:
Avoiding Lip Trauma
Be cautious when shaving, as cuts or abrasions around the lips can trigger cold sore outbreaks.
Moisturise
Use lip balms or moisturisers regularly, especially ones containing SPF to protect against sun damage.
Healthy Diet
A balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals, especially those that support skin health like vitamin C, vitamin E, and zinc.
Avoid Sharing Items
Refrain from sharing items like lip balm, utensils, towels, or drinks with someone who has an active cold sore.

It works!
I have had cold sores my whole life. I have tried every available over the counter cream/ointment. I came across this product in the supermarket. When I have had to use it, it either stops the cold sore forming altogether, or slows the process down, and everything heals quickly. I used to have cold sores for a week, but this either eliminates them straight away or I only have a mild case that lasts days.

Stops the burning!
Incredible, I’ve not had cold sore but angiodema or contact dermatitis to the lips, no one knows what the issue is, triggered by food, drink, upon waking swollen lips, painful burning, tight, then peeling once swelling goes down temporarily. This product, insane results within seconds of putting it on, almost disbelief. Have been able to eat dinner with virtually no reactions. I’m hoping this continues! Thank you! Life changing!
